Tonle Sap Futures Final Workshop

Our two-year ‘Exploring Tonle Sap Futures‘ research project is coming to an end, with Final Workshop organised in cooperation with the Tonle Sap Authority (TSA) and CSIRO in Kampong Cham, Cambodia on 31.1.-1.2.2013.

The two-day Final Workshop concluded a set of five scenario workshops, and it was divided into two parts: first day focused on the Final Report of our ‘Exploring Tonle Sap Futures’ study, while the second day focused on CSIRO-led scenario process and related research.

The workshop brought together some 40 participants from different ministries, NGOs and research institutes to discuss our research findings and the entire scenario process. Thank you for all the participants for active discussions and excellent comments on our research! Thank you also to our counterparts at the Tonle Sap Authority (TSA) for organising and facilitating the workshop very nicely and effectively.

The introductory presentation of the first workshop day can be downloaded here.

We will finalise our Final Report after the workshop and publish it at our webpages, so stay tuned!

Keskustelua vedestä Radio 1:n Tiedevartissa

Yle Radio 1: Tiedevartti ‘Loppuuko vesi?’

Maapallon paikallisesti rajalliset vesivarat eivät ehkä riitäkään kasvavan väestön tarpeisiin. Vedenpuute voi aiheuttaa konflikteja ja kriisejä tulevaisuudessa. Jo nyt ongelmia on syntynyt esimerkiksi siellä, missä joki virtaa usean maan halki.

Haastateltavana Yle Radio 1:n Tiedevartissa lauantaina 12.1. ovat professori Olli Varis ja tutkijatohtori Matti Kummu Aalto-yliopistosta. Toimittajana Sisko Loikkanen.
